TOP Tuesday - Tuna Casserole

I didn't forget about Turn Over the Pantry Tuesday.....just no time to get pics and blog.  In fact the only picture I got was of the gathered ingredients.
To make it you simply combine the powdered cheese* with milk and butter over low heat until you have a creamy sauce.  Soak the mushrooms in boiling water for 10 minutes; drain, and add to the sauce.  I also add 1/2 tsp dry mustard and a tsp of dried sliced garlic.  Drain the tuna and add to the sauce.  Salt and pepper to taste.  Mix the sauce with cooked pasta and spread into a buttered casserole dish.  Mix a bit of the butter with seasoned bread crumbs (or just used pulverized chips or goldfish crackers) and sprinkle over the top.  A light dusting of parm is good on that too.
Bake until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
That's it, 100% from the pantry.

* a quick note about the cheese powder.  This is not like the packets that come in a box of Kraft Mac N Cheese.  This is actually powdered dry cheddar cheese.  You can buy either one, I just wanted to clarify what I used in this recipe.  :)
