Auction Finds

We have a new interest.  We stumbled upon a local auction, and are loving the entire experience along with some FANTASTIC bargains!  Many folks that go to the auctions are searching for things to re-sell.  That's not what we do.  We go to the auction to find things that we could use at a reasonable price.

We have been able to buy a lot of fence and cage wire at pennies on the dollar.  Some of the wire is damaged but it is all quite useable.  This should be the beginning of a second kid pen...

I also got this Garden Weasel for 10 bucks....I was too curious to pass on it....

We've been looking for a grease trap for a couple of years.  We found a commercial grease trap at the auction for $5.  Oh yea!

My all time favorite auction find....and one that should make my life during winter months a whole lot easier.....a frost proof hydrant!

We got 4 of these.....brand new in the box.....for $10 each!!

The design of this little beauty is ingenious.  When the pump handle is open, the water flows.  When the pump handle is closed, it opens a valve at the base of the hydrant that drains the water from the hydrant.  Once installed below the frost line, this baby will never freeze.  No more carrying buckets of hot water during the frozen days of winter!  And because we were able to buy 4 of them....we can strategically place them where needed and any water hauling should be a relatively short trip.

Ya gotta just love American ingenuity!
